ICS TRAINING
Please be aware of the ICS training requirements for animal releases, events, rescue team, and water quality team. We require the completion of ICS 100 and ICS 200 for all volunteers at animal releases and events. To sign up for a release or an event, you must have ICS 100 and ICS 200 certificates and will not be able to sign up on MyImpact without them. This requirement has been updated in our system and is for your safety, animal safety, staff safety, and the safety of the public. You also receive volunteer hours credits for completing ICS training so you can hit the 8-hour monthly requirement with ease from the comfort of your own home. All volunteers are eligible for ICS 100 and 200 trainings so fear not Junior Volunteers; you may complete this too! When you complete an ICS training, please upload them to your MyImpact profile:
• Click “My Profile” in the top right.
• Click “Additional Info”
• Scroll down to “Uncatagorized”
• Find the required forms and click “Choose file” to upload your forms.
• Be sure to click “save” at the bottom.
With ICS 100 and 200 completed, active volunteers who meet our hours requirements will be approved for animal releases. ICS 100 training takes approximately 2 hours to complete while ICS 200 takes about 4 hours. Below you will find the links for each.
Struggling to figure out how to complete the trainings? Here is a step by step directional guide for you! Select the link below for the ICS training you are looking to complete. Once you select the link, scroll down to the Course Overview and on the right-hand side you will see a menu. Under TAKE THIS COURSE, you will see a link entitled Interactive Web Based Course, please select this link. Once you select the link a new page will open and you will be in the ICS course. You may complete the course online or print a version if you prefer. On the final slide, you will encounter a link for the exam. Click the link for the exam. Next, a window will open and ask you to create a FEMA account unless you already have one (for ICS 200 please use the account you created or used for ICS 100). A new page will load and have you input contact information. For the Business Information section, please select O (Other) and then begin the test. Remember to email a copy of your certificate upon successful completion so we may update your account. Remember to complete these prior to release season so we can all celebrate the releases together! We look forward to seeing each of you at a release!
