Garda - Kettle Opener
Kettle Openers are responsible for opening the kettles, verifying tag and kettle numbers, and bagging the money from each kettle. Once the opening process is complete, volunteers will assist with straightening bills. Kettle Openers must be able to stand for long periods of time. Garda will not allow volunteers to sit for this task. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and pass a Salvation Army background check.
Dates and Hours: Tuesdays - Sundays from November 16th - December 26th from 7:00 AM till task is completed excluding Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Ending times vary greatly, depending on that day’s kettles (amount of funds and weather conditions)
*Individually wrapped snacks, water, and coffee will be provided to volunteers but we ask that you do not bring homemade treats this year.
If you sign up for a shift, you will be approved by staff and sent a confirmation email.
