Youth & Community Programs - Activity Assistant

Primary purpose of role:               

The Activities Assistant is available to assist staff to deliver programs in a variety of activities and events, to ensure the participants have a fun, safe and positive experience.

General Tasks

  • Equipment Setup/Pack down.
  • Safety and compliance.
  • Food preparation and cooking.
  • Engagement activities ranging from
  • Music events (such as choir and concerts)
  • Artistic activities (such as arts and crafts)
  • Reading and writing.
  • Generalized games.
  • Cultural events.
  • Sports and recreational activities
  • Organizing and running events.
  • Provide facilitators with support (as directed) during medical events. 

Skills and experience required:

  • Ability to build rapport and engage with a diverse range of young people.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Experience working in culturally diverse environments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Reliable, punctual and be always respectful with appropriate behaviour.
