Youth & Community Programs - Award Leader - Duke of Edinburg's Award

Primary purpose of role:                The role of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Leader is to advise, guide and assist young people to participate in the Award. The Award Leader are responsible for participant sign up, assist activity selection and the briefing and checking suitability of Assessors and Supervisors.

General Tasks

  • Work closely with young members of the community • Participant Recruitment
  • Assist participants to find suitable activities and assessors
  • Check suitability of assessors and supervisors
  • Brief Assessors and Supervisors • Inductions, Activity Provision and/or Verification Adventurous Journey

Skills and experience required:

  • If delivering specialised activities must have relevant qualification/s • If delivering Adventurous Journey element, Leaders must have NOLRS to the relevant discipline.
  • Committed to PCYC Queensland’s Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy
  • Positively contribute to a safe and supportive service environment for children and young people
