General Interests

Event Staffing

Interested in general volunteering during Rise Up Recovery events? Volunteer roles include set-up/take down, front desk/check-in, food/drink distribution, and other miscellaneous roles based on the needs of the given event.

Recovery Coaching

Interested in supporting individuals through their recovery journey as a CPRS? This volunteer role requires the completion of CCARR Recovery Coach training (through Rise Up or any other company that offers this training/certification). CCARR Training information can be found on Rise Up Recovery's training page of their website. Contact Rise Up Recovery with any additional questions or concerns.

Non-SMART Meeting Facilitation

Interested in facilitating recovery meetings, other than SMART Recovery, at the Rise Up Recovery community center? Rise Up Recovery offers recovery meetings 6 days a week and are looking for driven volunteers to facilitate those meetings. Contact Rise Up Recovery for more information.

Childcare

Interested in volunteering to perform childcare services for Rise Up Recovery and our recovery participants? Rise Up Recovery hosts recovery meetings for the surrounding community and sometimes participants are unable to attend due to their needs for childcare services. We are looking for driven volunteers who would like to assist with childcare during these meetings.

Landscaping/Maintenance

For those of you who may not want to interact with participants or community members, you can instead volunteer to help Rise Up Recovery with the general maintenance of the recovery houses. Projects include gardening, yard work, basic installations/repairs, outdoor clean-up etc. Please contact Rise Up Recovery for more information on potential projects and scheduling opportunities.

SMART Meeting Facilitation

Rise Up Recovery offers SMART Recovery meetings every Tuesday night at the community center. This meeting facilitation role requires more intensive training and a formal certification. If you are wanting to facilitate SMART Recovery meetings, you must go to SMART Recovery Training Center: Volunteer Training: GSF 201: Facilitator Training and take the SMART Recovery Facilitator Training course to earn your SMART facilitator certification. NOTE: This training costs $80 to complete.

Childcare

Volunteers looking to offer childcare options to community individuals and recovery participants during our events and recovery meetings. Childcare volunteers are required to complete more training than usual volunteers.

In order to become an approved childcare volunteer, please head over to the training section (go to "My Profile" on the homepage, scroll down and select "Training") and take the "Childcare Training" module. Upon completion you will be approved to volunteer in childcare roles.

Group Meeting Facilitator

For volunteers who are interested in assisting with and facilitating Recovery Meetings held at Rise Up Recovery.

This volunteer role requires the completion of eLearning training, and potentially an external training class. If you are interested in facilitating meetings at Rise Up (other than SMART Recovery), please go to the "My Profile" dropdown menu found on the volunteer homepage, select the "Trainings" option, and take the "Meeting Facilitation Training" eLearning module. Upon completion you will automatically become qualified to sign-up for all of these shifts besides SMART.

To be a SMART Recovery meeting facilitator you must complete the SMART Recovery Training through the SMART Recovery Website and email your Certificate of completion to Rise Up Recovery (Admin@RiseUpRecoveryMN.com). This training costs $80 per person. If that is too much of a financial hardship, the SMART Recovery site has information about scholarship opportunities found on the Training Registration page (the SMART Recovery Training link above).
