Conversation Club
Offer newly arrived Melbourne AMEP students the opportunity to practise English conversation and connect with the wider community in a weekly conversation club meeting at a pre-arranged time on Zoom.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekly Conversation Club meetings with students, other tutors and VTS staff
- Be willing to coordinate conversation for an individual or small group of students in a Zoom breakout room (questions and activities provided)
- Respect the rights and privacy of students and other tutors
- Participate in ongoing VTS professional development workshops and social gatherings as needed (currently conducted online)
- Contact VTS staff if you are concerned about a student’s welfare
- Inform VTS Office if your availability changes
- Give two weeks’ notice before withdrawing from the program
- Complete an Exit Survey
Time Commitment:
1 hour per week for 6 months, after completion of VTS training
Qualifications Required:
- Over 18 years of age
- Working with Children Check
- Police Check (paid for by VTS)
- VTS training
