Conversation Club

 

       

Offer newly arrived Melbourne AMEP students the opportunity to practise English conversation and connect with the wider community in a weekly conversation club meeting at a pre-arranged time on Zoom.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in weekly Conversation Club meetings with students, other tutors and VTS staff
  • Be willing to coordinate conversation for an individual or small group of students in a Zoom breakout room (questions and activities provided)
  • Respect the rights and privacy of students and other tutors
  • Participate in ongoing VTS professional development workshops and social gatherings as needed (currently conducted online)
  • Contact VTS staff if you are concerned about a student’s welfare
  • Inform VTS Office if your availability changes
  • Give two weeks’ notice before withdrawing from the program
  • Complete an Exit Survey

 

Time Commitment:

1 hour per week for 6 months, after completion of VTS training

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Working with Children Check
  • Police Check (paid for by VTS)
  • VTS training
