Volunteer Street Team
This position assists The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth in the community at events, festivals, tradeshows, and community-based activities by acting as a Humane Society event ambassador.
The role will promote the Humane Society mission, vision and values, share our community programs and services, educate the community on our part in supporting people and pets, and encourage people to access our services, adopt, donate, participate or volunteer.
The volunteers may attend events that are general in nature, or ones that are more specific such as a booth at a third party fundraiser or a children’s educational event in support of a specific department.
Position Requirements:
- High level of customer service experience or skills
- Confidence and comfort in a public speaking role
- Strong communication skills
- Highly engaging and outgoing personality
- General understanding of our Humane Society, our mission and services
- Comfort around animals and an understanding of how to safely approach and interact
- Visual eye for arranging and setting up a display booth
