Are you a high school student in Stratford Perth or the Kitchener Waterloo area (including surrounding townships of Woolwich, Wellesley and Wilmot) looking for ways to complete your community service hours? Would you like to play an important role in the lives of cats and small animals in your community. Would you like to help them by providing a safe space for them to stay until they are ready to find their forever home?
If you love cats and small animals and would like to support them on their journey to finding their forever homes, then check out our Stratford Perth Student Foster Program! As one of our student foster caregivers and under the supervision of a parent or guardian, you can earn your community involvement hours by being a foster caregiver to one of our cats or small animals.
This position assists The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth in the community at events, festivals, tradeshows, and community-based activities by acting as a Humane Society event ambassador.
The role will promote the Humane Society mission, vision and values, share our community programs and services, educate the community on our part in supporting people and pets, and encourage people to access our services, adopt, donate, participate or volunteer.
The volunteers may attend events that are general in nature, or ones that are more specific such as a booth at a third party fundraiser or a children’s educational event in support of a specific department.
We are leaders in animal welfare in our communities and committed to promoting the human-animal bond, while focusing on the responsible treatment of animals through education, collaboration, compliance, advocacy and care.
