What you can expect during onboarding as a new RLR Volunteer:
- Fill out application-read and e-sign waivers & liability forms
- Complete three mandated Pennsylvania state clearances
-Once approved, begin signing up for desired volunteer opportunities
No prior experience is required. All volunteers interested in the Equine Center will be required to go through a basic level training for horse sense and safety. These individuals would then be able to assist with activities at the Equine Center. Further training is available for those interested in becoming a side walker or horse leader.
Volunteers can currently get involved with our "Rosie Hikes." This provides hiking experiences to those that might otherwise not have the ability by using our adaptive equipment called a "Rosie." Volunteers interested will need to go through Sherpa training in order to learn how to safely assist with our Rosie Hikes. In the future we will adding our adaptive low and high ropes courses and our zipline to our adaptive adventure experiences.
Hospitality is critical to a guests experience. This can come in many forms like welcoming, parking attendant, food service, etc.
Many opportunities will be available to assist with various projects around campus.
Special Events occur throughout the year and the needs vary based on the group we are serving.
Volunteers can help to assist in our day camp operations between June 23, 2025 and August 8, 2025.
