Dakota County Historical Society

Description

The Dakota County Historical Society will celebrate America 250 with a special exhibit and fashion show at the Mall of America in early July. Volunteers will work at a welcome table or as an event floater and provide event assistance as needed. The event will take place at the Huntington Bank Rotunda centrally located in the mall. Celebrate (and make) a little history. Don't miss out on this unique summer event!

Duties to be Performed

Welcome Table: Greet visitors as they walk through the mall into the exhibit space. Answer questions they have and provide handouts of the partners and exhibit.

Floater: Walk around the space and talk with visitors to the exhibit. Answer questions they have and make sure that none of the artifacts are being touched.

Volunteer Requirements

• The Welcome Tables may be required to stand for parts of the event, but chairs will be provided.
• Floaters must be able to walk for an extended period of time throughout the Rotunda space.
• Limited chairs will be available for seating, but they will have the ability to sit down on occasion.
• All volunteers must be willing to engage visitors in conversation and be comfortable in a very public space.
• Due to Mall of America’s Parental Escort Policy (PEP), volunteers must be 16 years old or older to volunteer.
• Parking is free when parking in the mall parking lots.
