Join the Consumer Advisory Group – Hypertension Guidelines
The Heart Foundation is seeking volunteers to join the Consumer Advisory Group (CAG). The CAG will help shape the Hypertension Guidelines by sharing their lived experience and insight to ensure the guidelines and supporting resources are clear, accessible and centred on real patient needs.
To ensure the Guideline best meets the needs of people living in Australia, we need the input of people from a diverse range of backgrounds. We encourage those that have a lived experience of hypertension, and those from diverse age groups, genders, cultural backgrounds, conditions, and locations from across Australia to apply. Please note, the role does not require a background in a health field or understanding of complex clinical or technical concepts or terminology.
What’s involved
- Participate in 6–8 online meetings (1 hour each) via Microsoft Teams
- Review documents and provide feedback between meetings
- Contribute to a 12–18 month project starting May 2026
- Volunteer role, working remotely from home
Your contribution
- Share consumer perspectives to inform guideline recommendations
- Review drafts for clarity, relevance and accessibility
- Help co-design patient-friendly resources
- Represent the consumer voice in a meaningful national project
