Monfort Heights Branch - Summer Program Assistant
Are you an outgoing teenager? Do you enjoy helping others celebrate milestones? Are you dependable? The Monfort Heights Branch of the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library seeks volunteers to serve as Summer Program Assistants. Summer Program Assistants are essential in our branches to ensure that our Summer Program is successful! Typical work includes assisting staff with Summer Programming.
Responsibilities: Award customers with prizes based on achievement within program; assist customers with basic questions and refer to librarians for more difficult questions; assist librarians with basic tasks outside of program during off-peak hours.
Necessary skills and qualifications: Excellent customer service; attention to detail; enthusiasm for reading; ability to connect with others; dependability.
Requirements: Minimum age 12 years old; Maximum age 18 years old; Ability to lift and carry materials; Ability to reach, bend, and stoop; Completed application; Interview; Completed background check for 18 years of age and over.
Time Required: 2-4 hours/week
Commitment Length Required: short-term (min. 1-3 months)
Schedule: Tuesdays – 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
