Do you have a background in teaching or education?  Or do you enjoy meeting new people from other cultures?  The Corryville Branch of the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library seeks an Adult ESL Conversation Partner.  Volunteer Adult ESL Conversation Partners are an essential support in our community who help newcomers learn English.  Your role will be to create a safe space for people to practice English and ask questions about the English language and U.S. culture. 

Responsibilities: Facilitates Conversation groups through support materials and general guidance; Practices listening and speaking skills with adult English language learners;  Creates a warm and welcoming environment for English language learners to practice English

Necessary skills and qualifications: Speaks English fluently and clearly; Is a supportive listener; Excellent customer service

Requirements: Minimum age 18 years old; Education background preferred; Completed application; Interview; Background check (if 18 or older)

Time Required: 1-2 hours/week

Commitment Length Required: short-term (min 3-6 months)
