Reading Branch - Teen Summer Reading Assistant

Are you an outgoing teenager? Do you enjoy helping others celebrate milestones? Are you dependable? The Reading Branch of the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library seeks volunteers to serve as Teen Summer Reading Program Assistants. Summer Reading Program Assistants are essential in our branches to ensure that our highly popular Summer Reading Program is successful!

 

Responsibilities: Assist Youth Librarian with program preparation and helping kids during programs; cut shapes and projects for programs; clean books; assist with room set-up and clean-up after programs, assist with providing information and award customers with prizes based on achievement within the Summer Reading program.

 

Necessary skills and qualifications: Excellent customer service; attention to detail; enthusiasm for reading; ability to connect with others; dependability.

 

Requirements: Minimum age 13 years old; Ability to lift and carry materials; Ability to reach, bend, and stoop; Completed application; Interview.

 

Time Required: 2-4 hours/week

Commitment Length Required: short-term (min. 1-3 months)

Schedule: Monday-Friday – 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., hours flexible
