Join Sacramentos Office of Climate Action & Sustainability (OCAS) in partnership with the Department of Youth Parks & Community Enrichment (YPCE) and Meadowview Urban Tree Project for a fun and rewarding morning of investing in the future of our tree canopy.
Together we will plant approximately 45 of the 85 trees that will be planted along the trail and spread 30 yards of mulch to the bases of the newly planted trees that will provide shade for generations to come.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring reusable gloves and wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather in clothes they don't mind getting dirty. Please bring a refillable water bottle - Ice water will be available for refills.
This planting event is part of Sacramento’s Equitable Urban Forest project, which is funded by an Urban and Community Forestry grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service in partnership with GreenLatinos.
Tools will be provided by The Sacramento tree foundation and YPCE
This free, family-friendly event is open to everyone. No experience is necessary - Our team will demonstrate proper planting techniques to ensure success.
Youth groups and students can get credit for volunteer hours by participating in these events.
