RAIN OR SHINE!

 

Join District 1 Councilmember Lisa Kaplan and the City of Sacramento's Department of Youth Parks and Community Enrichment (YPCE) for a fun and rewarding morning of planting trees. Together, we will plant approximately 15 new trees in the park. 

 

Volunteers will help clear pre-dug holes, plant and stake the trees, add mulch around the bases, and even have the chance to name the trees they've planted.

 

What to bring:

  • Work gloves
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Weather-appropriate clothing you don’t ming getting dirty.

What's provided:

 

  • All tools and supplies from YPCE
  •  Trees and stakes through our partnership with SMUD and The Sacramento Tree Foundation.

 

This free, family-friendly event is open to everyone. No experience is necessary - Our team will demonstrate proper planting techniques to ensure success.
