LOVE 916 Days - LOVE 916 - Tree Planting - PARK TBD
PARK TBD
March 27, 2027
9:00am - 12:00pm
RAIN OR SHINE!
Join The Sacramento Tree Foundation and the City of Sacramento's Department of Youth Parks and Community Enrichment (YPCE) for a fun and rewarding morning of park beautification.
Volunteers will plant, stake and spread mulch to approximately 20 new trees. The planting holes will be pre-dug and backfilled, making them easy to clear and ready for planting.
No tree-planting experience is necessary! We'll provide an informative demonstration on proper planting techniques and safety. practices.
Trees and stakes are provided through a generous partnership between SMUD and The Sacramento Tree Foundation.
All tools will be provided by YPCE.
What to bring:
- Work gloves
- Closed toe shoes
- Weather appropriate clothing you don't mind getting dirty
- refillable water bottles
- Community spirit
Youth groups and students can receive credit for volunteer hours.
Everyone's a VIP when you Volunteer In Parks!
Partners for the Love 916 campaign include Keep California Beautiful, Keep America Beautiful, Niagara Cares, Department of Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment (YPCE), and Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes.
