Social Services - Pathway of Hope Mentor
What is Pathway of Hope?
All across our communities, The Salvation Army has seen a dramatic increase in families with crisis. Prolonged job loss or unexpected economic hardship can affect families and their ability to meet their basic needs. We work with clients and see the need every day.
The norm for us has been to provide immediate assistance to meet those needs. However, in the long run this doesn’t solve the problem. Repeatedly clients are returning still in need of the same assistance and we cannot continue with what has been deemed as a “quick fix.” Our goal is to help clients get to the root cause of the problem.
Through Pathway of Hope we work one on one with clients using a strength-based model in which we can focus on the strengths of each person to help them see possibilities.
This is where YOU as a Pathway Mentor come in!
As clients work in Pathway, you can help them identify and develop their strengths as they learn to use them to reach their short and long-term goals. Pathway is a holistic approach and we walk alongside participants on their journey to surpass crisis and vulnerability, and ultimately celebrate stability and sufficiency.
With Pathway of Hope, a better future is possible. So, we invite you to take the first step to become a mentor and help families in need navigate through the barriers they are facing to reach a brighter and hopeful future!
