Interages Intergenerational Middle School Book Club
Montgomery County Public Libraries and the JCA Heyman Interages® Center hosting an intergenerational book club for middle school students. Students and older adult community members meet weekly for one month to discuss a book.
Participants have discussions about the book while enjoying conversations and hearing perspectives from people of another generation. Students wrote a short essay or created a poster or flyer from what they learned from the book.
L'Chaim ("to life") Chorale Intergenerational Chorus
Come join the L'Chaim ("to life") Chorale and make joyful music across the generations! Students and adults are invited to join members of the JCA's Kensington Clubs, a social day program for older adults with early-stage memory loss, to learn songs from a variety of genres including musical theater, spirituals and Jewish music and perform.
*Singers from all background welcome
*No experience or audition necessary
*SSL hours granted
Rehearsals are Sundays, October 11 through November 15 from 2:00 – 3:30 pm. The Final Performance will be on November 22. Rehearsals and performance will be held at Ring House, 1801 E Jefferson St., Rockville, 20852. If you are interested, please contact Teri Poux at Tpoux@jssa.org.
