POSITION TITLE: Respite Center Volunteer
REPORTS TO: Respite Center Manager
OVERVIEW: The City of Davis and CommuniCare have formed an innovative partnership to open the Davis Respite Center – a safe space where the unhoused population of Davis can go for essential services like laundry, bathroom/showers, computer access, access to Case Managers who can link them to local services and more. The Respite Center Volunteer will support Respite Center Staff with tasks such as answering the door, monitoring laundry and shower facilities, and other tasks that support CommuniCare’s mission and the purpose of the Respite Center.

- Highly organized and able to multi-task
Attendance and punctuality is necessary. Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to problem solve, and be self-motivated. Must have good customer service skills, an outgoing and friendly attitude as well as a demonstrated ability to approach patients to offer assistance and welcome them to the clinic. Must have good written and oral communications skills, including the ability to take accurate notes. Required to have versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and have acute attention to detail. Expected to have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. Able to take direction and work independently as well as a part of a team. Required to have the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels with patients, clients and other with external customers.
