Looking to make a real difference and have fun while doing it?
Join our Social Support Groups at BHN and help older adults stay connected, active, and engaged.
Our programs support people aged 65+ through meaningful social activities, both at our centres and out in the community.
Locations: Mentone, Clarinda & Bentleigh East
Activities include:
• Café catch-ups
• Visits to local reserves
• Food market trips
• Movie days
• Group social activities
Whether you’re helping at a centre or joining outings, you’ll be creating connections, building friendships, and brightening someone’s day.
It’s also a fantastic, low-cost way for participants to enjoy new experiences while giving carers a well-deserved break.

SSG support volunteer
This engaging volunteer role involves assisting the Group Supervisor with transportation of clients, assisting with morning tea and lunch set up and pack down, engaging with clients – getting to know their story and what gives them joy. We would also love to hear from you if you have any hobbies or interests which may enhance our programs. Examples include crafts, chess, card games and music to name a few!
