SW5 - Immunization Associate

The Immunization Associate will assist in directing traffic, guiding people to who is next for their appointment, where to sit following appointments, etc. for Flu Clinics.

Volunteers will assist Public Health Flu Clinics held in Swift Current

This is an on going casual position.  various shifts and times available.  

Meals on Wheels Associate

Meals on Wheels is an essential program that supports local Home Care clients by delivering hot, nutritious meals to their homes. Volunteers deliver these meals with a smile and provide social interaction to the individuals they are helping. 

Volunteer Services welcomes individuals, couples, families, corporate groups and organizations to fill weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and casual spots. Volunteers pick up meals from the Cypress Regional Hospital @ 11:40 Monday through Saturday.

Volunteering for Meals on Wheels allows you the opportunity to support our community, build your resume, meet new people, gain valuable experience, or obtain stewardship/class credit hours. 

The Meadows - Canteen Supervisor Associate

Meadows Canteen
Escort Resident from house to Canteen, Volunteers help resident reach merchandise and make change, Escort back to House.

 

The Meadows - Entertainment Provider

Provider volunteers provide mental, social, emotional, and physical stimulation to residents
Group choirs, bands, individual piano players, piano/guitar recitals, performances, dance groups, school entertainment, old time dancing groups, hymn sing, story tellers.
 
Will be a group settings never one on one

The Meadows - Hairdressing Escort Associate

Escorting residents to and from hairdressing Salon within the Facility. 

 

 

The Meadows - Recreation Associates

Activities Volunteer - Assist Recreation staff with monthly calendar activities & events.
Activities take place in the Community Centre, Resident Houses & Patio.  
Will be in 1:1 and group settings

Recreation Associate are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the Long-term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents

Activities may include, but are not limited to:  visiting, escorting, reading, puzzles, games, bingo, nail painting, going for walks, group activities, crafts, exercise programs, and special events like Christmas parties and teas, hymn sings, Birthday parties, volunteer group outings.

These Volunteers will be a 1:1 and group settings. 

Recreation Escorts also required to take residents to and from the Activities within the Facility. 

 

The Meadows - Youth Group Provider

Youth group provider volunteers provide mental, social, emotional, and physical stimulation to residents
School Group choirs, bands, piano/guitar recitals, performances, dance groups, school entertainment,  story tellers.
 
Come in and show off your talents for holidays and Special occasions!    
 
This is a group setting never 1:1 

The Meadows - Wheel Chair Pedal Bike Associate

 The volunteer would drive a pedal bike that is specially designed for residents to ride along on.

Volunteers will be trained in safety protocols, emergency off site plan and how to ride the bike.  Volunteers will not assist getting residents on or off bike, this will be done specifically by trained staff.  Volunteers will be trained on a pre-destination route with check out and in with approximate time of return.

Volunteer must have cell phone  

The Meadows- Personal Shopper Ambassador

Personal Shopper:

Volunteer will receive an items list from Meadows reception desk, along with the money needed for the purchase.  Volunteer will go shopping for the requested items and return the items, list, receipts and outstanding money to Meadows reception. There is no interaction with the residents.

The Meadows provide things here but we do not provide things that are unique or individual to the person. Its hard to meet the unique demands of the residents and not all items they need are appropriate to be sold in the canteen. The volunteer supplies that extra pair of "Helping Hands" that add to the trained services of the long-term care facility staff.

Volunteers must have a  drivers license, knowledge of how money works, knowledge of where products that are requested are for sale.

 

The Meadows - Palliative Care Associate

The volunteer supplies that extra pair of “helping hands” that add to the trained services of the long-term care facility staff working together to enhance the lives of residents.

Volunteer role includes:

  • Offer one to one visiting and socialization.
  • Deliver and offer comfort items to patient and family
  • Sitting with palliative clients to visit, play games or read to them
  • Hands on assistance with activities, such as letter writing, cards, scrap booking
  • Be respectful of confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Prayers and scripture readings with patients permission
  • Communicate with Palliative Care Coordinator for connection with additional supports

Shift times will vary depending on the need of the clients.

 

Requirements:

Must complete Palliative Care Training Program per Palliative Care Coordinator.

Must be comfortable with patients at end of life.

Ability to function in an emotionally stressful environment.

Comfortable in a health care setting, accepting and open minded.

Volunteer Coordinator will complete the volunteer registration process.

Palliative Care Coordinator will provide Palliative Care Volunteer Training, on site orientation/training, roles of volunteer and boundaries, dying process.

 

 

Cypress Regional Hospital - Palliative Care Associate
