Like to support a busy Emergency Department Intake area for the staff by providing patient and staff support? The Intake Area of the Emergency Department is looking for a self - directed, hands on volunteer dedicated to providing the best moments for a patient's experience while in the ED.

• Shifts are 8 am - 11 am/11 am - pm/2 pm - 5 pm/5 pm -8 pm daily
• Volunteers are scheduled for consistent weekly shifts
• Assisting the Emergency Department with rooming patients
• Providing medical gowns for roomed patients and a belongs bag
• Assisting the care team with turning over rooms for new patients with cleaning and room set up, such as bed change and wipe down, restocking room with appropriate supplies as required
• Stocking Intake Cart with supplies
• Providing blankets and social support to patients in the Emergency Department Intake Area
• Tidying Intake area of items
• Delivering meal trays, hydration, ice chips or snack after consultation with care team for patients
• Directing patients for lab drop off
• Navigating lab work through South Health Campus Delivery systems on behalf of patients
• Intake area navigational support, (Wayfinding)
