Patient Support/Visitor
Purpose
The Patient Experience (aka Volunteer Visitor) Program offers visitation and socialization for patients. A hospital admission is one of the more stressful events of life and can quickly leave a patient feeling socially isolated, especially where family / community members are not available. The patient experience volunteer will offer a friendly welcome, provide social support to support patient and family centered care initiatives, as well as offer activities and companionship to patients on various units.
