Like to support a busy Urgent Care and staff by providing patient support? The Intake Area of the South Calgary Health Centre is looking for a self -directed, hands on volunteer dedicated to providing the best moments for a patient's experience while in Urgent Care. We are looking for a fast paced, medical minded volunteer to support the staff, patients and families inside a busy urgent care facility. 

• Shifts are from 8 am - 11 am/ 11 am - 2 pm/ 2 pm - 5 pm/ 5 pm - 8 pm Weekends, 3 pm - 5 pm/5 pm -8 pm weekdays
• Volunteers are scheduled for consistent weekly shifts
• Assisting the Urgent Care with rooming patients 
• Providing medical gowns for roomed patients and a belongs bag
• Assisting the care team with turning over rooms for new patients
• Stocking Intake Cart with supplies
• Providing blankets and social support to patients in the Emergency Department Intake Area
• Tidying Intake area of items
• Delivering meal hydration and nutrition after consultation with care team for patients
• Directing patients for lab drop off
• Navigating lab work through on behalf of patients
• Intake area navigational support, (Wayfinding) and patient care and comfort
