Care & Support - supporting young people to live independently
Currently, there are over 100,000 young people in England who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Over 20% of those will be young people leaving the care system. 18% will go on to attempt suicide in their lives.
CCP's Care and Support team works to break the cycle of homelessness, by providing supported accommodation to 16-25 year olds through a range of integrated housing, training, education, employment, advice and support services for vulnerable young people. We currently offer 68 units of supported housing at sites in Gloucestershire and Bournemouth.
Volunteers are asked to work within a residential setting either facilitating group sessions (e.g. life skills, relationship building, cooking or budgeting) or working one to one with residents to support their wellbeing and independence including accompanying them to appointments and offering information, advice and guidance.
