Duties and Responsibilities

• Recruit volunteers and take accurate attendance on event day
• Determine volunteer needs including:

• • Number of volunteers both pre-event and event day

  • Roles for each volunteer

  • Event day schedule for volunteers

  • Ensure all volunteers take the necessary training

• Work from existing volunteer list and recruit volunteers for various tasks
• Identify and recruit volunteer committee members and provide them with specific tasks
• Ensure all volunteers have reviewed training guides and taken the online course
• Schedule volunteers to attend national training conference calls
• Develop communications, reminders and event day information as well as follow up thank you messages
• Manage event day volunteers and troubleshoot as required on site
• Provide meaningful recognition for all volunteers with committee members
• Provide Kids Help Phone staff with a post-event evaluation and the master attendance list
  

Qualifications

• Experience in volunteer coordination is an asset
• Motivated to support Kids Help Phone’s mission and vision
• Ability to collaborate and lead in a team environments and communicate at a regional and national level
• Strong organization skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
• Excellent team and interpersonal skills

Commitment

• Approximately 10 hours per month, with hours increasing leading up to the walk (April-May)
• Monthly meeting attendance
• Responsibilities outside of meeting time
• Must be able to attend the Walk on the first Sunday in May (approximately 9 hours)
