Duties and Responsibilities

• Draft site plan and route map and determine the need for permits, police and/or other support

• Research venue, equipment rental, transportation and purchasing; quotes approved by Kids Help Phone staff

• On event day, act as a site lead with Kids Help Phone staff and provide direction to volunteers as appropriate

• Organize and/or support leads for food and beverage, kids zone and registration to ensure they are on track

• Secure event day logistics that include but are not limited to:

• Shelters, tents or awnings for any outdoor checkpoint

• Place signage on site (route directions, information, sponsors, start/finish banners)

• Vehicles—weary walker vehicles, supply trucks

• Registration tables, chairs and supplies

• Ensure event day food delivery as necessary

• Organize live entertainment and a warm-up activity (stretch, Zumba, etc.)

• First Aid

• Clean up, garbage bins, dumping site and recycling

• Coordinate delivery schedules for event day or earlier as need

• Other duties as required; the committee will collaborate to create and revise the logistics plan

Qualifications

• Motivated to support Kids Help Phone’s mission and vision
• Strong ability to provide logistical planning support; event planning experience an asset
• Strong organization skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
• Excellent team and interpersonal skills

Commitment

• Approximately 10 hours per month, with hours increasing leading up to the Walk (April-May)
• Monthly meeting attendance
• Responsibilities outside of meeting time
• Must be able to attend the Walk on the first Sunday in May (approximately 9 hours)
