Library Advisory Board
The Library Advisory Board (LAB) is an advisory body of community members who use and are impacted by Multnomah County Library services and resources. LAB advises library leadership on systemwide policies, and the library’s annual budget as the library’s Community Budget Advisory Committee (CBAC).
The Library Advisory Board strives to recruit members from across Multnomah County representing diverse lived experiences and different types of library users. When a vacancy opens, current members recruit and vote to recommend new members to the Library District Board, who approve new member appointments. Library Advisory Board bylaws stipulate a 17-member board, including at least two youth members between the ages of 13-17. Youth members serve one two-year term, and other members may serve up to two four-year terms.
