East County Library: Creative Learning Room Tour Guide (age 18+)
Calling all Makers! Help build excitement and introduce library patrons to our brand new Creative Learning space at East County Library. Volunteers will guide patrons tours, do equipment demonstrations and get them started on mini creative learning projects.
Time Commitment: 2-4 times between May 23- June 27
Available shifts: Saturdays 10:00 am- 12:00 pm OR 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm
Age requirement: 18 years or older
Location: East County Library, 475 NW Division St., Gresham, OR 97030
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming environment for patrons
- Guide patrons on tour of the space
- Provide mini demonstrations on equipment
- Share creative learning project samples
- Answer questions about the Creative Learning Room
Skills & Qualifications
- Welcoming and and engaging demeanor
- Enjoy talking with patrons and sharing information about the Creative Learning room
- Comfortable presenting in front of a group
- Ability to work and talk effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Comfortable with asking questions and learning throughout the creation process
- Patient, flexible and reliable
- English language fluency
Training & Other Requirements
- Library staff will provide outline and speaking points for tour
- Shadow library staff-led tour of Creative Learning Room
- Site orientation and review of volunteer program policies and procedures
