Join the Friends of the Dr. Roberto Cruz-Alum Rock Branch Library by assisting with the sorting and organizing of regularly received donations of gently used books and media.  These materials are sorted for condition, categorized by age and genre, and stored for use during the library's used book sales.  Used book sales help to raise funds for library programming and community services in the Alum Rock neighborhood.

Tasks

  • Sort books by age & genre
  • Label boxes of books
  • Stack & store boxes
  • Assist in organizing storage area

Scheduling

Schedules are flexible.  You tell us how often you can come in and at what time.

  • Age Must be at least 15+
  • Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least Medium
  • Online Orientation for On-site Volunteers Completed Must be Yes
