Monument Library Teen Advisory Board - TAB

Have a voice in your community, meet new friends, and make a difference, all while earning volunteer hours in a fun way!

We need teens who are willing to help plan programs for their peers, step up social media interaction, and make the teen areas of Pikes Peak Library District the best they can be.

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a group that advises the young adult library staff on how to make the library more teen-friendly. Developing teen program ideas, assistance, and engagement are a few of the ways you will be helping others in your community. 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: (Includes some or all of the following) 

  • Give input into what programming will be offered for teens at your library
  • Advise library branch staff on design and offerings in the teen spaces
  • Assist with program preparation 
  • Contribute to book display efforts

Looking for teens who:

  • Will attend monthly meetings
  • Will participate in TAB discussions and voice your opinions
  • Will respect the opinions, tastes, privacy, and choices of others
  • Who show: Leadership, Enthusiasm, Teamwork
  • Are 12 to 18 years of age

Location:

  • Monument Library

Time Commitment:

  • Meet once a month. Specific dates and times may vary by location.
  • Amount of project time spent between meetings will be determined by the teen volunteer and the young adult staff member.

 

Reports To:

  • Branch Staff (TAB Coordinator)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods on a daily basis 
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs
  • Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods and operate equipment on a daily basis
