STOP-IT Program - Public Awareness and Outreach Volunteer

DESCRIPTION

 

Under the supervision of the Volunteer Manager, the public awareness and outreach volunteer will be responsible for supporting various community outreach and special events.  This position is best suited for an individual with strong communication, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Create, request, and organize materials for outreach events.
  2. Set up and facilitate STOP-IT tables at community fairs. 
  3. Plan community events to raise awareness.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Experience in computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  3. Experience in event planning and coordination preferred.

4. Education:  Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

Prior to participating in this function within the STOP-IT team, you will be required to complete the following:

  1.  Volunteer application
  2. Background Check
  3. One to two 15-30 minute interviews
  4. Volunteer training seminar
