Volunteer Driver Scheme
Role title: Volunteer Driver – Community Food Club
Department: Universal Services, Community Solutions
Sites: Various
Responsible to: Relationship Manager
Role purpose:
- To contribute to the smooth running of the Community Food Club
- To pick up and deliver stock for the Community Food Club from local businesses within allocated times
- To liaise with the Community Food Club team with any issues regarding deliveries
Main activities:
- Attending the business and picking up food deliveries
- Ensure food is transported safely to Community Food Club
- Dropping food off to the Community Food Club
- To work in line with Council as well as Food Safety guidelines

- Opportunity to shadow and develop into other roles concerning the Community Food Club
- Travel expenses will be reimbursed
We will provide you with training and support for this role using the council’s iLearn training system. Courses include:

- Safeguarding children
- Safeguarding adults
- Food Safety
- Manual Handling
Further training opportunities may become available.
We will also provide you with a reference after three months volunteering.
