Role title: Volunteer Customer Assistant

Responsible to: Front Line Plus Officer
Role purpose:
- To be part of the Community Food Club team and deliver a service to families in financial difficulty in the borough
- To provide excellent customer service to residents attending the Community Food Club
- To gain valuable experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Effectively communicate with team members to ensure that the Community Food Club runs in accordance with environmental health and food safety standards
Main activities:
- Meeting and greeting residents who attend the Community Food Club
- Supporting residents in making healthy choices in regard to their weekly shop, as well as providing information on products
- Effectively signposting residents to partner services and providing information, advice and guidance
- Respond to customer enquiries or pass them onto the correct person where required
- Assist with the administrative tasks of the Community Food Club, this may include inputting data and information on client notes, recording resident engagement per Food Club visit and contacting residents whilst maintaining GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
- Ensure surplus products are disposed of accordingly at the end of the shop and support with packing up and cleaning the shop
- To work in line with Council as well as Food Safety guidelines
