Volunteer Branch Delivery Driver
POSITION OBJECTIVES
- To regularly transfer library material between branches.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to Council policies at all times, including the Code of Conduct and Volunteer Policy
- Demonstrate the organisation’s vision and values through workplace behaviour, actions and attitudes
- Attend an initial induction and any other training to meet obligations
- Conduct deliveries in the library vehicle in accordance with the library’s specified route and schedule
- Pickup, deliver and return library materials between our branches and to customers using the library vehicle
- Sign the control sheet before and after using the keys
- Ensure that library vehicle is in good working order before and after use
- Report any incidents or issues before finishing the shift
- Record the odometer reading before and after the trip
- Relay any messages or requests before finishing the shift and report any incidents or issues as soon as possible
- Work cooperatively with other volunteers and staff as required
- Assist library staff as required and make recommendations for improvements to library practices and services
- Adhere to Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures
- Keep all necessary licenses up-to-date and inform Operations & Programs
- Support Officer of any changes to licenses that will impact the delivery of service
COMMITMENT AND SCHEDULE
- Varied days and times, predominantly mornings
- At least one shift per week. Library has a delivery schedule for each week day, so we appreciate if you can do more than one shift a week and a commitment for a minimum of six months
- Branch delivery run originates from Coffs Harbour to Toormina and then to Woolgoolga and back to Coffs Harbour
