Wildlife Transport Volunteers Natural Disasters
About the Role
Emergency Wildlife Transport Volunteers will play a critical role in rescuing and transporting injured, displaced, and vulnerable wildlife during and after natural disasters such as bushfires, floods, and storms. Volunteers will receive free training and essential tools to ensure they can safely assist in wildlife response efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to calls for wildlife transport during emergency situations
- Safely handle and transport injured or displaced wildlife to veterinary care or wildlife carers
- Work closely with wildlife professionals, veterinarians, and rescue teams
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines for disaster response and wildlife handling
- Maintain clear communication with the coordinating team
- Participate in ongoing training to improve emergency response skills

Who We’re Looking For
- Passionate about wildlife conservation and emergency response
- Aged 18+ with a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Able to remain calm in stressful situations and follow instructions
- Willing to be on-call during emergency periods and available at short notice
- Physically able to assist in handling and transporting wildlife
