Miscellaneous - Senior Fitness Instructor
Activity Summary:
Do you have a passion for fitness and would enjoy an opportunity to share that passion with older adults in a fun way?
The Senior Fitness Instructor will teach creative exercise classes for older adults who would like to work on maintaining good health. The routines and sessions should be low impact fitness that is catered to older adults.
Our Senior Fitness classes are on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Thursday of the month from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Evanston Corps Community Center - 1403 Sherman Ave, Evanston.
Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Must enjoy working with seniors from diverse backgrounds
- Possess effective communication abilities
- Ability to motivate and energize others
- Pass initial screening process, including a background check
- Experience with nutrition education is a plus
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
Policies:
Alcohol, drugs, and smoking are not permitted at any Salvation Army facilities or volunteer sites.
Pants/shorts and a shirt with sleeves must cover the waist and fit comfortably. Transparent and tight-fitting clothes are not permitted. For your safety, closed toe shoes are required.
For your safety and the safety of others, you need to bring and wear a personal face covering over your nose and mouth while volunteering. You will also complete a brief health screening prior to volunteering.
Off-street parking is available.
