Marketing & Social Media Assistant
ROLE PURPOSE & HOW YOU HELP
As a Volunteer Marketing & Social Media Assistant, you will play a vital role in fundraising to support people experiencing homelessness to access and utilise our services at Chances House.
LOCATION: Chances House - 2 Endeavour Street Mackay

HOURS:
- Flexible hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Creation:
- Plan and develop engaging content for social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Write blog posts, articles, and newsletters to highlight success stories, upcoming events, and volunteer opportunities.
- Create graphics, videos, and other multimedia content to support campaigns.
Social Media Management:
- Once approved, schedule and post content on various social media channels.
- Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a timely manner.
- Track and analyse social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
Campaign Development:
- Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns to raise funds.
- Collaborate with the team to develop strategies for increasing engagement and reach.
- Help organise and promote events, both online and offline.
Community Engagement:
- Engage with the online community by sharing relevant content and fostering discussions.
- Build relationships with followers, supporters, and influencers.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with other organisations.
Brand Management:
- Ensure all content aligns with the organisation's brand guidelines and messaging.
- Maintain a consistent voice and tone across all communication channels.
- Update and manage the organisation's website and social media profiles.
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct research on current social media trends and best practices.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving marketing efforts.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with administrative tasks related to marketing and communications.
- Maintain a database of media contacts and supporters.
- Help prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at Chances House.
- Ensure you maintain the privacy and confidential of service users, volunteers and staff.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of support programs and services.
- Participate in regular meetings and training sessions.
- Effectively utilise the online volunteer portal for checking and updating your roster, learning, and communication with us.

- Current Working with Children Blue Card
- Ability to manage relationships with complex individuals.

- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
