Food and Goods Wrangler

ROLE PURPOSE & HOW YOU HELP 

As a Food and Goods Wrangler, you will use your vehicle to collect and deliver food, and other essentials to Chances House. Food and essential items are a vital component of the support we provide to people experiencing homelessness, who access and utilise our services at Chances House.  

 

LOCATION: Within the Mackay Region. 

 

 

HOURS:   Flexible volunteer options are available based on food donation and your availability.   

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Collect food from services in the Mackay region and deliver to Chances House. 
  • Use your own registered, insured vehicle and petrol. 
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at Chances House. 
  • Ensure you maintain the privacy and confidential of service users, volunteers and staff.  
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of support programs and services. 
  • Participate in regular meetings and training sessions. 
  • Effectively utilise the online volunteer portal for checking and updating your roster, learning, and communication with us.  

 

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Current drivers licence 
  • Reliable, registered and insured vehicle.  
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
