Large and Small Dog Areas
Do you love dogs and want to make a difference in their lives? Our large and Small Dog Volunteer roles offer a rewarding opportunity to help care for and socialize dogs while also assisting in finding them loving homes. Join our team and be a part of a community dedicated to the well-being of our furry friends.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Cleaning Condos/Suites: Ensure the suites are clean and hygienic for the dogs.
- Assisting Clients: Help clients who wish to visit or adopt a dog, providing guidance and support.
- Stocking Supplies: Keep the supplies stocked and organized for easy access.
- Socializing with the Dogs: Spend time interacting and playing with the dogs to help them feel comfortable.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the large dog area and getting acquainted rooms clean and tidy.
- Washing Dishes: Clean food and water dishes to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Walking Dogs: Take the dogs for walks to ensure they get exercise and stimulation.
Cattery
Are you passionate about cats and want to make a difference? Join our team in the Cattery
Duties include:
- Cleaning Condos/Suites: Ensure a clean and safe environment for our cats.
- Assisting Clients: Help visitors who wish to meet or adopt a cat, providing them with a positive experience.
- Stocking Supplies: Keep our supplies, including litter pans, fully stocked and ready for use.
- Socializing with Cats/Kittens: Spend quality time interacting with the cats to help them feel comfortable and loved.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the cattery area and get acquainted rooms neat and tidy.
- Washing Dishes: Assist with washing food and water dishes to maintain hygiene.

Community Outreach and Education
Are you passionate about animal welfare and eager to make a difference in your community? Join us as a Community Outreach and Education Volunteer! In this role, you will help raise awareness to improve the lives of animals.
You have the opportunity to:
- Participate in community outreach events and campus events
- Distribute educational materials
- Assist in promoting pet adoption and fostering programs
- Provide resources and information to pet owners during events

Mission Statement
We stand by our mission to improve and protect the lives of animals in our community and to alleviate their suffering and abuse.
To accomplish this mission, the Houston SPCA rescues and cares for homeless pets in a variety of ways, including animal cruelty investigations, the 24-hour injured animal ambulance, the Rehoming Center, and humane education programs, including Summer Critter Camp. The Houston SPCA serves as an advocate for all animals.
