Nothing is more important than your child's health. Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC, provides an unmatched level of expert care in more than 30 areas of pediatric medicine. That’s why U.S. News & World Report has named us a Best Children's Hospital for many years – in fact, we're the only children's hospital in our region to make the list and are ranked in multiple specialties.
As the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington, D.C., we treat more pediatric patients each day than any other hospital in North Carolina. And when your child needs care right away, Levine Children's has the region's first 24/7 emergency room just for kids, staffed by doctors trained in pediatric emergency medicine.

We have a variety of volunteer rolls focused on supporting patients and their families. Volunteers interact with patients and families focusing on comfort, emotional support and assisting in various tasks to enhance the patient experience.

Concierge/Guest Services Volunteer
Concierge volunteers help reduce the anxiety, so visitors can focus on their healing journey. Volunteers assist the Guest Services staff in escorting patients/families and visitors to various locations throughout the children’s hospital, greet patients, families and visitors as they enter the hospital, help families load their cars to go home and help take in donations. Our Hospitality Cart Volunteer is another example of a concierge role, this volunteer focuses on supporting the patients and families by taking the LCH Hospitality Cart to various floors offering complimentary items such as snacks, toiletries, books to families. Also important in this role is stocking the cart and keeping an inventory of supplies.
Bilingual is a plus!

There are several areas throughout the hospital that volunteers are in need to help provide non-clinical support and activities that enhance the patient experience.

Pet Therapy Volunteers bring their certified therapy dog to interact with the patients and their families. Therapy dogs provide fun, comfort and companionship making the hospital feel a little more like home. Pets must be certified by Pet Partners or Alliance of Therapy Dogs
Virtual volunteers can work remote from home while still providing meaningful support for our patients through a variety of programs. The Concierge Admission Program supports newly admitted patients with a phone call from a virtual volunteer to discuss their stay, identify any needs they may have while with us and assist with concerns. Volunteers call patients from home to any one of our hospitals. Virtual volunteers can also serve as remote witnesses for patients who need an advance directive for care and assist with hospitalized patients during elections to provide guidance on how they can vote using a proxy. Many more virtual experiences are being developed thanks to our wonderful virtual volunteers!
