Mount Saint Joseph Hospital

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital at Providence Health Care!

Mount Saint Joseph Hospital is a well respected community hospital located in Vancouver's east side. We offer multiple acute care, as well as long term care services. Our volunteers are highly valued, and are an integral part of the quality care we provide.

To volunteer at MSJ,

  • Volunteers need to commit to a minimum 4 month period of time, coming in once a week for a two-three hour shift.
  • A criminal record check needs to be completed (Providence Health Care will provide any web links/forms required), as well as two references, required online courses, a volunteer orientation and position specific training.
  • Volunteers need to be double vaccinated for COVID, and are asked to get an annual flu shot or wear a mask during flu season (December to April).
  • The minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old for long term care, and 18 years old for acute care.
