Fringe Festival Accessibility Team


ACCESSIBILITY TEAM

The Accessibility Team offers support to Volunteers! Working alongside our Accessibility Team Leaders and Coordinator, this team is responsible for assisting Volunteers, and occasionally patrons, so they can fringe to their fullest. This specialized position needs people who treat everyone who comes to Fringe with dignity and can quickly problem-solve the needs of the disability community. 

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Provide one-on-one support for Volunteers with higher support needs during training and throughout the Festival as they complete their volunteer duties 
  • Assist with volunteer accessibility needs as required, checking in with Volunteers and assisting with adapting spaces or tasks 
  • Assist with patron accessibility inquiries as required 

 

 

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Must be 18+ years of age 
  • Must successfully complete a Police Information and Vulnerable Sector Check 
  • Able to move around outdoors in all types of weather 
  • Professional or lived experience, or a willingness to learn about working with the disability community 
  • Understand, or desire to learn, the social model approach to disability 
  • Flexible and willing to learn how to problem solve with Volunteers in a variety of roles 
  • Proficient understanding and ability to communicate in spoken English 

 

 

Shift Length & Hours 

  • Shifts are approximately 4 hours in length  
  • Shifts occur between the hours of 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
