Internship- Behavioral Health

Clinical positions are filled for spring, summer, and fall 2022 start dates. We still have Bachelor level openings at our Behavioral Health After School Program. We still have opportunities available for Master's level Social Work majors interested in non-clinical placements.


Outpatient Clinic: Work directly with our clinicians to provide behavioral health services to A New Leaf Clients (adults and children). Geared towards Advanced Practice student social workers, counselors, and therapists (MSW, MFT, LPC, etc.)

We have clinics in both the east and west valley. Schedules vary.

 -     Behavioral Health After School Program -The A New Leaf After School Program serves:

•Children who are 6-17 years old, who have one of the eight AHCCCS plans

•One current location-

  • East Valley/Mesa

•Have a behavioral health diagnosis

•Referred through their Child and Family Team (CFT)

•We provide a structured environment for clients to facilitate social interactions, social emotional learning and to work on regulating emotions

•Clients are present at the After School Program for 4 hours a day, 3-5 times a week

•The After School Program has 5 components of care

•Creative Expression

•Community

•Character Development

•Emotional Regulation

•Executive Functioning

•All Programing is based on having clients develop skills in these areas to use at home, school and their communities.

REQUIREMENTS: Depending on role. Enrolled in appropriate related higher education program. Fingerprint Clearance Card, ability to pass background check, Driver License/ID, TB screen, and completion of required training (Therapeutic Options, CPR/1st Aid, Relias Health, etc.). Other requirements may be required as per funding and contracts.
