Lancashire County Council's Young People's Service puts young people first to help them achieve their full potential and support them as they become young adults.
The purpose of the Young People's Service is to improve outcomes for young people in their personal, social and educational development and support them to have voice, influence and a place in society in a period of their transition from childhood dependence to adult independence. The service contributes to the Children and Young People's plan, Youth and Early Support Strategy, targeting work and support for vulnerable young people.
The Young People's Service aims to achieve these outcomes using two delivery strands:
The Service aims to provide young people with access to a range of services, exciting opportunities and positive choices through both youth work and targeted support.
The Service is for young people aged 12 – 19 years (up to 25 for young people with LDD) in Lancashire County. We target our efforts toward those young people facing key transitions in their lives, who are disadvantaged, have additional needs, are vulnerable or at risk of social exclusion.
