Native Prairie Management

There are around 150 native prairie restoration acres on the Kickapoo Valley Reserve.  These restored prairies are managed by KVR staff with the help of volunteers.  Prairie Management activities may include:

  • Seed harvest
  • Prescribed Burns
  • Mowing
  • Invasive removal
  • Inventories

Volunteers are a key component to the success of restoring and preserving these native spaces, and the flora and fauna that need them.
