Oakridge Trails Alliance - Greenwaters Trail Logout

We are planning to kick off the Greenwaters Trail Expansion project on Halloween weekend! We will be working Friday, 10/29, 9am-12pm, and Saturday, 10/30, from 9am-2pm. We will meet at 9am at the Jim Tharp Memorial Bridge. This event is all outdoors and COVID safe. Please bring a mask to wear in case you are working in close quarters with others, otherwise please observe social distancing guidelines.

About the project: (See map below)

Our first step is to clear the trail corridors. This area will be the focus of this work party, including LB, L1A, L3, L4, L5 and LC. We will ask folks to bring their favorite brush cutting tool (clippers, loppers, folding saw, etc.) and, with a crew leader, clear along those listed flaglines. Work crews on Friday morning will do some cutting and clearing, while clearly marking the corridors for Saturday. Ultimately, we would like to clear all these corridors in preparation for an invasive removal project that will take place in late February and March thanks to Walama Restoration. Once the invasive weeds are gone, we will plan to finish this project digging some tread by hand and some by machine.

Please indicate in your registration which shifts you would like to help with (Friday, Saturday, or both).

The Greenwaters Trail System and the attached park are so beautiful and we are lucky to have such a nice trail system in our town. ATCA and our friends from our local USFS branch are very excited to bring this new expansion to fruition. Thank you for registering to help out!
