Infant Feeding Peer Support Volunteer

Are you passionate about infant feeding?
Would you like to support families on their feeding journey?
Do you want be part of a new volunteer initiative across Norfolk community?

Our Infant Feeding Peer Support Volunteers have all parented their own babies and provide valuable emotional and practical infant feeding support to parents. This is a rewarding role where you can volunteer for a cause you feel passionately about, give back to your community and learn new skills along the way.

Our volunteers empower parents to reach their own infant feeding goals, and need to be able to listen, empathise and support others in a sensitive and non-judgemental way. They help to promote and normalise breastfeeding/chestfeeding & support all infant feeding parents, including those who are formula feeding, mixed feeding and introducing or feeding solid foods. Volunteers will attend community groups across the region to offer support and information to parents around all aspects of infant feeding.

We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of 12 months volunteering, for at least 2 hours twice a month, with the option for more hours if desired.

You will need to attend our Breastfeeding Management & Relationship Building course and complete practical elements and an assessment as part of the training programme. Ongoing training & support is provided throughout your volunteering experience.

If you are over 18 years of age, have parented your own child and can demonstrate a positive attitude towards infant feeding, then we would encourage you to apply!
