Volunteer Roles and Opportunities

Vigil Volunteer / NODA

As a Vigil Volunteer, you will offer a comforting presence to patients in their final hours, ensuring that no one has face the end of life alone. Your quiet companionship provides solace and dignity bringing deep reassurance to patients and comfort to families.

Patient Visit Volunteering

Patient Visit Volunteers share stories, enjoy conversations, read, play games or offer a quiet, presence, your time helps brighten their day, ease loneliness. 

Volunteer Companion visits create meaningful moments of companionship that bring warmth and reassurance to both patients and their families. 

Respite Volunteers  provide companionship to the patient while giving the caregiver an opportunity to step away for errands, appointments, or personal self-care. 

 

Driver

Two opportunities to drive in support of hospice

1. Urgent need Delivery Drivers are scheduled on specific days based on their availability and may choose the schedule that works for them. 

2. Rose Couriers hold a tender and meaningful role, offering a quiet gesture of remembrance by delivering a white rose to bereaved. 

 

Office / Program Support Specialist

An Office Support Specialist volunteer provides valuable administrative support to our team, assisting with a variety of tasks that keep our programs organized and efficient. 

Courageous Kids Youth Grief Program

Create a safe and caring space for kids and teens who are coping with grief. No experience is necessary – we provide all the training that is needed.

 

Courageous Kids program offers school, community groups, summer day camps and a sleepover summer camp for children 6-17 years old who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

 

NEW: The Courageous Kids program is expanding to bring a new service to the community!

Beginning June 2026, we’re excited to introduce an Arts and Writing Day Camp — a creative, supportive space where kids can explore self‑expression, build confidence, and connect with others through hands‑on projects and guided activities.

More details will be shared as we get closer, and we can’t wait to offer this meaningful new opportunity to the families we serve.

Bereavement Services

Adult Bereavement Service volunteers provide compassionate support to individuals and families who are grieving the loss of a loved one. This role may involve direct contact with the bereaved as well as administrative and creative support for the bereavement program. 

Pet Visits

Bring joy and improve lives by Volunteering alongside your pet. Share the joy your pet brings to people in need with Pet Partners or Alliance (F.E.T.C.H.) certified pet visits. 

 

Keepsake Creations

Use your talents in knitting, crocheting, or sewing by creating handmade items that offer warmth, calm and a personal touch.
